About OAM

The Office of Acquisition Management (OAM) supports the Acquisition and Grants communities at the U.S. Department of Commerce.

Within the Department of Commerce and its operating units, the acquisition community effectively evaluates acquisition risk and manages acquisitions. The Office of Acquisition Management establishes policies for the acquisition community and provides access to tools and training.

Although the Department of Commerce does not offer department-wide financial assistance, Operating Units within the Department of Commerce are authorized to provide grants and financial assistance. The Office of Acquisition Management establishes uniform guidance and sets standards on grants administration for Commerce’s Operating Units.
