Tanika Hawkins is the Acting Director of Administration for the Office of the Secretary.  She oversees, coordinates, and performs, all administrative functions and essential tasks in support of the Secretary, Deputy Secretary, Chief of Staff, and all Immediate Office Directors and personnel. Mrs. Hawkins serves as a liaison for the Chief of Staff to other departmental bureaus and offices within the Office of the Secretary. Tanika utilizes expert communication skills to effectively accomplish the best results for both civilian and political parties while fully supporting the mission of the Department as well as the Strategic Plan set forth by the Secretary of Commerce. Tanika provides guidance and serves as a point of contact to re-enforce federal regulations, Departmental procedures, and policies.  Tanika Hawkins has 20 years of federal service, having previously supported NTIA, ITA, and EDA.  Tanika was born and raised in Prince George’s County, Maryland where she currently resides with her husband of nearly 20 years and son.
