Hurricane Dorian is an active tropical cyclone currently threatening Puerto Rico and the Dominican Republic. The fourth named storm of the 2019 Atlantic hurricane season, Dorian developed from a tropical wave in the Central Atlantic. Dorian is a small but potent storm.

On Wednesday August 29, 2019, the Census Bureau activated its Emergency Preparedness and Response Team (EPRT) ahead of Hurricane Dorian. 

The EPRT's responsibility is to disseminate important Census Bureau demographic and economic data to the public, press, elected officials, and federal, state, local emergency management officials.
