U.S. Commerce Secretary Ross Visits Pennsylvania, Meets with Chamber, Business Leaders, and Tours AGI

On June 18, Secretary Ross traveled to greater Philadelphia and participated in a tour and discussion at Analytical Graphics Inc. Secretary Ross addressed the importance of the U.S. commercial space industry. Secretary Ross also participated in a roundtable discussion with the Greater Wilkes-Barre Chamber where he addressed the President Donald J. Trump Administration’s economic recovery efforts.

    In Pennsylvania, there have been 158,720 CARES Act loans with a net amount of $20.5 billion.

    This major program - along with additional weekly COVID-19 unemployment benefits, and actions taken by the Federal Reserve Board - provided an unprecedented investment in the American economy.

    Our restaurants and retail establishments will reopen. We are all eager for the end of this pandemic.

It was, and is, a display of the private sector's agility and ingenuity to respond to radical changes in markets. It proves that our industries can quickly fill gaps in supply chains as companies re-shore production from overseas factories.
