Across the Commerce Department: 2020 Year in Review

2020 was a difficult year, despite the challenges of the COVID-19 pandemic, the Commerce Department continued to provide American businesses and workers with the resources they need during this time. Take a look at some of the wonderful accomplishments we made across the Department:

  • Census - 2020: A Year in Review
Working in new circumstances for many, and facing unforeseen obstacles, we displayed the agility necessary for any organization to thrive in the face of change. This spectacular work was not limited to the once-a-decade census for which the U.S. Census Bureau is best known, but also to our other critical surveys and censuses.
  • MBDA - 2020 Year in Review
As we celebrate significant achievements this year, we cannot lose sight of the business impacts resulting from the COVID-19 pandemic. We recognize that MBEs have been particularly hurt and continue to face enormous challenges due to COVID-19. Many are small businesses and sole proprietorships that now, more than ever, need access to the available resources from the federal government. MBDA responded with additional resources to the minority business community awarding thirty grants to organizations across the country to expand services and create targeted programming to help MBEs recover from the effects of the pandemic.

From all of us at Commerce, we wish you a safe and healthy New Year!
