At periodic and unannounced intervals throughout the year, InfoSec personnel conduct inspections of Department of Commerce facilities to search for national security information (NSI) and containers, as well as improperly secured Controlled Unclassified Information (CUI). Any such violations discovered during an inspection would constitute a Security Incident and would require investigation.
