Facility Security Assessments

The Facility Security Assessment (FSA) is an in-depth analysis used to determine security measures needed to protect Departmental personnel, property, and information IAW with the Interagency Security Committee (ISC) Risk Management Process (RMP) standards.

Department of Commerce owned facilities and facilities that have security delegations from the Department of Homeland Security undergo FSAs by the Department's Office of Security assessors which are trained and certified in the ISC RMP. All FSAs at facilities falling under GSA ownership or lease are conducted by the Federal Protective Service (FPS).
