Education, Training and Awareness

As per DOO 20-6, the Office of Security has Departmental responsibility for security education, awareness, and training. Responsibility includes developing professional standards and comprehensive security education and awareness program activities to enhance employee knowledge of security requirements, including personal protection, hostile intelligence threats, proper management of classified and sensitive information, and means of countering threats to Departmental facilities and personnel.

Also, as in OSY's Goal #4 - Develop Capacity & Competency in the OSY Workforce, the Office has developed the 0080 Security Administration / Specialist Training Framework (Feb 2017) which provides an early-career, to mid-career, to senior-career security specialist development roadmap to build the necessary competencies to achieve this goal. Competencies are organized by technical, general, and leadership for each of the levels.
