Security Awareness

Security awareness is the knowledge and attitude personnel possess regarding the protection of the physical, and especially informational, assets of the Department of Commerce. The Department offers formal security awareness training and resources for all personnel when onboarding and annually.

Security Awareness Day

Security Awareness Day is a planned annual event that occurs at the Bureau or facility level. The day is planned with several security awareness training sessions, vendor booths to meet security and first responders and obtain program information on security and personal safety, and break out sessions specific on security and emergency management processes with subject matter experts.
